An Advanced Weight Loss Solution from LX Medical

LX Medical's weight loss program has helped numerous patients achieve their weight loss goals, live a healthy life, and enjoy total well-being for years. At LX Medical, we believe that weight loss shouldn't be centered around a one-size-fits-all mentality. Our doctors and practitioners create custom weight loss programs that are tailored to your unique body, rather than creating plans based off of someone matching your age or weight. With our team's support, you can achieve real results and start living life without the extra pounds.

That's important in the modern world, where maintaining good health and fitness has become more important than ever. Research has shown that viruses and diseases are more likely to affect people who are overweight and unhealthy. Unfortunately, there are many "miracle" supplements and unhealthy diet plans that mislead people into thinking that weight loss is not beneficial. Furthermore, weight loss "experts" often offer unstructured and unsupervised programs that do more harm than good.

At LX Medical, we prioritize the well-being of our patients when it comes to weight loss. Our approach is patient-centric, focusing on personalized treatments. Our doctors first evaluate your lifestyle habits, and we work with you to replace negative patterns with positive, personalized lifestyle changes. This is crucial for achieving optimal wellness and weight loss. Benefits of losing weight include:

  • Lower Triglycerides
  • Lower Blood Pressure
  • Lower Risk of Heart Attack
  • Lower Risk of Stroke
  • Better Mobility
  • Less Joint Pai
  • More Energy
  • Better Mood
  • Increased Libido
  • Much More

However, losing weight is only the beginning. To keep weight off permanently, adopting a healthy, active lifestyle is essential. At LX Medical, we help you achieve this by implementing manageable, positive lifestyle changes that jumpstart your weight loss journey. By making healthy behaviors a part of your daily routine, you can achieve your weight loss goals and become the best version of yourself.

One of the most successful treatments we offer to help patients shed pounds safely is peptide therapy for weight loss in Mendota Heights, MN. In fact, peptides for weight loss, such as semaglutide (also known as Ozempic and Wegovy, MOTS-C,) and AOD-9604, have been proven to be effective and have helped countless men and women live life at a healthy weight.

Peptides Explained

Consisting of amino acids, peptides help regulate the biological processes and functions in your body. As the building blocks of protein, they are crucial for your overall health. Unfortunately, however, many men and women suffer from peptide deficiency. Peptide therapy gives your body the peptides it needs, improving your ability to:

  • Burn Fat
  • Keep Weight Off
  • Heal Wounds
  • Build Muscle Mass
  • Reverse Fatigue
  • Much More

Peptide therapy is often used alongside other treatment plans from LX Medical, such as our custom weight loss plans. That's where peptides like semaglutide and AOD-9604 come into play.

What is Peptide Therapy for Weight Loss in Mendota Heights, MN?

Peptide therapy is often used to boost hormones and support our total well-being. Different types of peptides can target different areas of our health. For example, some collagen peptide supplements can help make our skin, hair, and gut healthier. Other peptides, like semaglutide and AOD-9604, can help facilitate healthy weight loss.

Peptide therapy works in a different way than vitamin supplements. When we take a multivitamin for our hair, skin, and nails, our body must absorb the nutrients. But sometimes, our body can't absorb all the nutrients, so they just leave our body through our urine. Peptides, on the other hand, are part of the proteins in our bodies, making them easier to benefit from and absorb.

But what about peptide therapy for weight loss? The truth is there are various peptides that have different effects, including some that facilitate weight loss. However, weight loss is a nuanced process that involves multiple factors such as diet, exercise, age, genetics, and lifestyle. While peptides can assist you in achieving your weight loss goals, they are most effective when combined with improvements like a healthier diet, more frequent exercise, and better life choices. If you've tried various weight loss plans and diets, but haven't had any success, peptides like semaglutide and ADO-9604 may be the extra boost you need to experience true weight loss.

The Best Peptides for Weight Loss in Mendota Heights, MN

A recent study in the Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism found that people who used peptides in conjunction with a weight loss plan experienced incredible results. More specifically, patients reported a 14% reduction in body fat on average. Two of the most popular peptides for weight loss also happen to be FDA-approved and, when appropriate, part of your weight loss journey with LX Medical.

Those peptides are semaglutide and AOD-9604 and are touted for their therapeutic benefits and long-term safety profile. If you're looking for a little extra help to lose weight and keep it off for good, peptide therapy for weight loss could be for you.

Semaglutide for Weight Loss

Looking to shed some pounds and keep them off for good? Diet and exercise are crucial, but for busy adults and parents, sticking to a routine is easier said than done. If you need extra help losing weight, consider semaglutide. This injection, approved by the FDA for diabetes and obesity, can stimulate GLP-1 receptors in the brain to aid in quicker weight loss and long-term health.

Semaglutide works in several ways. First, it acts as glucagon in your body, which helps tell your brain that you're full and don't need to eat anymore. Secondly, it slows down the time it takes for food to transit out of your stomach. This process reduces unnecessary eating and snacking throughout the day. Perhaps more importantly, it reduces glucose spikes after you eat, which causes a litany of issues like inflammation.

Semaglutide also helps your pancreas secrete insulin while making you insulin sensitive. This regulates glucose levels in your body and how your body metabolizes that glucose. Additionally, by reducing inflammation in your body, you benefit from powerful anti-aging and longevity properties.

When combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, semaglutide can provide:

  • Long-Lasting Weight Loss
  • Reduced Risk of Heart Disease
  • Regulated Glucose Levels
  • Insulin Control
  • Body Fat Reduction
  • More Energy
  • Better Recovery
  • Less Inflammation

Semaglutide Cycle Info

Unlike other weight loss clinics, at LX Medical, you can enjoy the benefits of semaglutide from the comfort of your office or home. Injections are administered once a week. Once you've met your weight loss goals, you can reduce your intake to a minimum dose for additional positive effects like ongoing weight management. You can also quit taking semaglutide entirely. If you opt to stop, our medical weight loss team can chat with you about other types of peptide therapy for weight loss in Mendota Heights, MN.

AOD-9604 for Weight Loss

This peptide, which is often used in conjunction with semaglutide regimens, stimulates the breakdown of fat while inhibiting lipogenesis and supporting your tendons and cartilage. It has grown in popularity because of its ability to boost your metabolism, which helps burn fat. What's great about AOD-9604 is that it stimulates the pituitary gland but does not affect tissue growth or blood sugar. Perhaps most impressive is that this peptide can burn fat without you feeling the need to overeat as a result.

In fact, AOD-9604 activates your body's fat-burning processes using its own unique mechanism without needing an HGH receptor. It also releases obese fat cells and reduces new fat cell accumulation. One of the most notable benefits of AOD-9604 is its ability to regulate blood sugar and manage insulin levels, which can lead to reduced inflammation and weight loss. Additionally, AOD-9604 can aid in building muscle, similar to growth hormones. Its benefits extend beyond fat loss, as it contains regenerative properties that may be beneficial for individuals with various conditions, such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • Damage to Bones
  • Damaged or Worn-Out Cartilage
  • Arthritis
  • More

With the ability to reduce fat that is stored in your abdominal region, this weight-loss peptide is very popular for older people with stubborn belly fat. It is also often used by people who have tried other diets and weight loss plans but had little or no success.

Gut Health Peptides for Weight Loss and Well-Being

At LX Medical, our doctors offer a range of peptide therapies for your health and well-being. Peptides like semaglutide and AOD-9604 are often used as part of a comprehensive peptide therapy plan, crafted by LX Medical specialists for your body. If you're interested in losing weight, gut health peptides like BPC-157, Thymulosin Alpha, Thymulosin Beta, and GHK-Cu can be incredibly beneficial along your weight loss journey.

BPC-157

This naturally occurring peptide, sometimes called the "Body Protection Compound," is secreted in your gut and helps repair its lining. It works by helping your body be in a constant state of restoration and repair, providing powerful anti-inflammatory effects. This process helps with issues like:

  • Joint Pain
  • Wound Healing
  • Tissue Damage
  • Inflammation
  • Free Radical Protection
  • More

When it comes to losing weight, BPC-157 is often included in peptide therapy for weight loss in Mendota Heights, MN, because it can help reduce pain and inflammation resulting from new or increased exercise efforts. As noted previously, exercise and diet are key in long-term weight loss, and BPC-157 can make those efforts easier.

Thymulosin Alpha

Thymosin Alpha-1 is a powerful immune system modulator that helps you resist infections, illnesses, and disease. By naturally stimulating T cells to locate and eliminate viruses, bacteria, and even tumor cells, this peptide prompts your body to respond to these invasive organisms, making your immune system naturally stronger and more effective.

Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of Thymosin Alpha-1 in regulating immunity and inflammation related to rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and other conditions. Recent clinical studies have also shown promising results in using this peptide to fight lung, colon, breast, and other types of cancer. By reducing inflammation in your body and enhancing your immune system, you can optimize your body as you lose weight with the help of LX Medical.

Thymulosin Alpha Cycle Information

Patients inject this peptide every day for two weeks and then continue three times a week for 2.5 months.

Thymulosin Beta

Thymosin Beta-4 is a peptide consisting of 43 amino acids that is known to promote healing in the body and has anti-inflammatory properties. It occurs naturally in higher concentrations at injury sites and is a water-soluble protein that can regulate cell migration to a site. It is also very good at repairing tissue damage. The substance is not only beneficial for wound healing and skin repair but can also aid in the repair of the brain, spinal cord, and heart. Medical professionals consider Thymosin Beta-4 to be a safe and potent substance in both its natural and synthetic forms.

Like its Alpha counterpart, this peptide can be beneficial for individuals undergoing weight loss, and can help reduce the inflammation and pain associated with exercising and more.

Thymulosin Beta Cycle Information

Patients inject this peptide every day for two weeks and then continue three times a week for 2.5 months.

GHK-Cu

Research suggests that GHK-CU functions as a feedback signal when tissue damage occurs. This peptide is effective in shielding damaged tissue, reducing inflammation, and replacing scarred tissue with healthy tissue. Although further research is necessary to determine its effectiveness on a larger scale, GHK-CU has already been proven to play a role in wound healing and inflammation reduction. Like other peptides for weight loss in Mendota Heights, MN, GHK-Cu supports your gut health and weight loss efforts by lowering inflammation in your body, which often happens from changes to your diet or exercise regimens.

GHK-Cu Cycle Info

Patients should take this peptide for 20-30 days, especially when used for wound healing or as part of a more robust peptide therapy package.

Surprising voice takes orders at Mendota Heights McDonald’s

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. (FOX 9) - A new approach to the drive-through is amazing customers at the McDonald’s in Mendota Heights.

"Hello," says a voice. "Welcome to McDonald’s."

Fries are getting scooped up. Nuggets are getting packed up. And the meals are getting happy, but there’s something new on the menu at the Mendota Heights McDonald’s.

In the age of accelerating artificial intelligence, an automated voice is taking orders at the drive-through with customers in for quite a surprise when they drive up and find out the source of the voice.

"It was me," Andrew Gotham tells a shocked customer.

"It was him?" the woman says and points to another woman in the car. "She was just saying they don’t have people that work there anymore."

The 19-year-old Gotham is a fast food funny man, putting on a one-man show every weekend.

In his free time, Andrew is a master of role-playing games and enjoys acting out characters.

"So I was thinking ‘Hey, how could I bring that into work?’ Maybe have a little bit of fun," he said.

His drive-through voice started as an English accent, but when he got too many questions about how long he’d been in the country, he settled on the robot.

The boss found out about his unusual drive-through employee from customers, and decided it was unique and tasteful and maybe even good for business.

"We’re always trying to give the customer a great experience and give them reasons to come back and visit more often," said operator Pat Duval.

"My managers point to me and say ‘Hey, how do you like my robot?’" Andrew joked.

Some customers come back just to order from the "robot", but putting a face to the voice still surprises a lot of folks.

For now, you might catch him at the drive-through for dinners on Saturdays and lunch on Sundays.

Gotham is in a college engineering, drafting, and design program preparing for a career building — you guessed it — robots.

But for now, he’s turning the tables on automation.

"AI’s not taking my job," he said. "I’m taking its job!"

Third-term state Rep. Ruth Richardson, DFL-Mendota Heights, announced her resignation from the Legislature on Friday evening in a Twitter thread, writing her time in the Legislature has been “the honor of a lifetime,” but that her “season of service is ending effective immediately.”

In a Tuesday interview, Richardson said she needs to give her full attention to her job as CEO of Planned Parenthood North Central States, which has clinics in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota and is the largest abortion provider in Minnesota. Richardson is confronting both labor strife here in union-friendly Minnesota, and hostile political environments in the remainder of the territory.

“Right now, I’m really focused on the work we’re doing at Planned Parenthood North Central States,” Richardson said. “Post-Dobbs … the health care landscape is shifting dramatically. I mean, there’s whiplash in a number of ways.”

Asked why she chose to announce her resignation at 6 p.m. on the Friday before Labor Day weekend, she said “When you’re talking about stepping back from a role, I don’t know that there’s a day that works better than others.”

Richardson took the helm of the regional Planned Parenthood last October, about three months after the U.S. Supreme Court issued its Dobbs ruling undoing federal protections for abortion access. At the time, she told the Star Tribune she could manage the responsibilities of both jobs and the likely conflicts of interest from legislating on abortion and managing an abortion provider.

During the fast-paced 2023 legislative session, Richardson oversaw a major Democratic accomplishment in establishing a paid family and medical leave program for all Minnesota workers. She also spearheaded the creation of the nation’s first state Office of Missing and Murdered Black Women and Girls.

Gov. Tim Walz must schedule a special election for her seat representing parts of Mendota Heights and Eagan south of St. Paul.

Richardson took the helm of the regional Planned Parenthood at a time of significant labor unrest at the institution, following a successful union drive of hundreds of workers spread across 27 health centers.

Workers, unionized with SEIU Healthcare Minnesota and Iowa, allege Richardson has overseen a fierce union-busting campaign reminiscent of corporate juggernauts like Amazon and Starbucks.

Planned Parenthood fired one union leader for sharing confidential information about fellow employees in the bargaining team’s private group chat as well as a recording of managers discussing a dispute with the union.

The union did not contest the termination and apologized for the breach of confidential information as part of a settlement agreement after Planned Parenthood filed a charge with the National Labor Relations Board, which oversees private sector unions. As part of that settlement agreement, the union withdrew charges that Planned Parenthood inconsistently enforced its dress code to stop employees from wearing union t-shirts.

Planned Parenthood also disciplined the rest of the bargaining team — giving them each a final written warning — for failing to report the breech of confidentiality and ultimately terminated another union leader in what the union describes as trumped-up claims of misconduct.

The union filed charges of unlawful retaliation, surveillance and termination with the NLRB, which is investigating the allegations.

SEIU Healthcare Minnesota and Iowa, one of the most influential labor unions in the state, held demonstrations inside the state Capitol demanding Richardson reinstate one of the terminated workers and later rescinded its endorsement of her.

SEIU Healthcare Minnesota and Iowa declined to comment on Richardson’s resignation from the Legislature. The union plans to hold a news conference on Thursday to announce updates on contract negotiations, which have stretched nearly into their second year.

Richardson, who has touted her support for organized labor, rejected the allegation of union-busting.

“We have done nothing but show support of our employees as they were seeking to unionize,” Richardson said. “I have always believed that unionization is going to help strengthen our organization and ultimately provide better health care for our patients.”

Before Richardson became CEO, Planned Parenthood North Central States declined to voluntarily recognize its workers’ union, forcing an election overseen by the National Labor Relations Board.

Asked about the charges of unfair termination and discipline, Richardson said, “Unions are not shields for misconduct.”

*This story has been updated with more detail about charges against SEIU Healthcare Minnesota and Iowa and Planned Parenthood North Central States made with the NLRB.

Pickleball is popular, but padel is next.

That’s according to founders of The Heights Racquet and Social Club in Mendota Heights, which officially opened its doors last week. It’s a racquet sport speakeasy of sorts, with year-round, indoor play spread across four pickleball courts, four squash courts – and what’s believed to be the first padel court in the state of Minnesota.

Padel is a game that marries parts of tennis, pickleball and squash to create a unique racquet sport where players use a stringless paddle to strike a ball similar to a tennis ball. The court is smaller than a tennis court – roughly three padel courts fit inside one tennis court – but larger than a squash court. It is surrounded by glass walls on the baselines, and has a steel cage near the middle. The glass walls are in play.

“I love everything about (padel),” said Jeff Mulligan, a retired professional squash player who serves as a consultant for The Heights Racquet and Social Club. “When you get out there, it’s easy to see why it’s the fastest growing sport in the world. It’s the perfect marriage of squash and tennis.”

The “racket” in padel looks like something from the pickleball court, made of foam, but wrapped with a carbon fiber shell. The ball looks an awful lot like a regular tennis ball, but is slightly smaller. Watching someone strike the ball off of the glass walls calls to mind squash or racquetball, but seeing it sail over the net looks completely different at the same time. Padel is primarily played in doubles, and players serve underhand.

Squash uses a smaller ball that heats up as the volley continues, and is played on a hardwood surface. For longtime players like Mulligan, padel offers an intense racket sport option that is easier on the joints. The padel court is artificial grass over sand infill.

For new players, or for pickleball players interested in another game, it’s easier to pick up than squash or tennis.

“Similar to what’s nice about pickleball, it’s so easy to learn and play since you have a paddle. Everything you hit is a sweet spot,” Mulligan said.

Popular outside U.S.

Pickleball continues to be the fastest growing sport in America, according to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association’s Topline Participation Report. Participation almost doubled in 2022, and has increased nearly 159 percent over three years.

Meanwhile outside of the U.S., padel has experienced tremendous growth, and is one the fastest growing sports in the world, according to the International Padel Federation. The sport has exploded in popularity particularly in Spain, Mexico, Argentina and Sweden. Padel was first developed by Enrique Corcuera in Acapulco, Mexico in 1969.

Courts in the U.S. are still fairly rare, but padel courts in Miami and New York City have gained a foothold among racquet sport aficionados, The Heights Racket and Social Club General Manager Sheldon Vaz said.

The nearest padel club to Minnesota listed by the U.S. Padel Association is in Illinois.

Commodore Squash Club connection

Planning for The Heights Racquet and Social Club began about two years ago, when Commodore Squash Club owner John O’Brien announced plans to sell the St. Paul property. O’Brien hopes to keep the club going, but with the property potentially being sold, some members wanted to ensure they would continue to have a place to play.

For Vaz, it went beyond the games. The club provided friendship and camaraderie. It was a home of sorts.

The 49-year-old moved from Kenya to Minnesota 30 years ago to attend the University of Minnesota. He has been playing squash for 15 years, he said.

“People embraced me, and really became my family,” Vaz said.

Ivan Martinez agreed.

Martinez, a member of the Commodore Squash Club, has also joined The Heights Racquet and Social Club. People at the St. Paul club would often sit and relax between games, spinning vinyl records while taking a break before the next contest, Martinez said. He is also Minnesota Squash Association board chair.

“It wasn’t just, ‘play squash and go home,’” Martinez said. “That was something that we wanted to maintain (with The Heights). We wanted to make sure that it’s not just a racquet club. I met some of my closest friends at The Commodore.”

Members and friends

The Heights is membership based and has separate tiers for pickleball only or for all three sports. In addition to the courts, the club has full workout facilities, showers, locker rooms, and a sauna. Between the different courts is a large open space, with a pool table and table tennis, with space for the conversations Martinez and Vaz mentioned.

Vaz said there are plans to potentially add outdoor courts in the future. He is looking forward to continuing to play squash and padel with old friends, while hopefully new members feel comfortable making new friendships.

“I love the game, it’s such a huge part of my life,” Vaz said.
