Long COVID or post-COVID-19 conditions are currently affecting approximately 23 million Americans. In fact, most have had one symptom that lasted 12 weeks or more after infection.

According to the CDC, 1 in 13 adults in the U.S. have long COVID symptoms. These long-term effects prevent many from daily work and life activities and have other negative consequences. This guide will discuss the causes, symptoms, risks, and treatments of long covid.  

What is long COVID/Post Covid? 

According to the CDC, some people who have been infected with COVID-19 experience long-term symptoms lasting for an extended period after their initial infection and illness. This is known as long COVID or Post COVID. Long COVID can last for weeks, months, or longer and can cause a wide range of ongoing health problems. 

Of course, post-COVID affects everyone differently. For the general population, symptoms improve over time. However, It’s not uncommon for symptoms to disappear and reappear. And in more extreme cases, ongoing symptoms can result in disability.
